2014 GP14 World Championship
The 2014 GP14 Word Championships will be held from 9 - 15 August at East Down Yacht Club, on Strangford Lough, Co. Down. Full details and online registration are available via the GP14 Association event page. Further information and breaking news available from the EDYC GP14 championship page.
Entries Still Open
Early entries for the GP14 Worlds on Stangford Lough have been building up and the recent passing of the 1st July has caused some confusion as to the last date for entries. EDYC has stated that entries will be open at least until 1st August but encourage those considering entering the event to commit as soon as possible via the GP14 office.
There are absolutely no caravan or camper van spaces left at the club; the local tourist offices are still offering to assist in finding suitable accommodation – details already on the EDYC websites. Camping within the club grounds is still an option, but space is becoming predictably tight. La Mon Hotel and Country Club holds a group booking from 8-16 August. Single rooms at £75 and Doubles at £85 per night, bed & breakfast. Iincludes complimentary wifi, car parking and Country Club facilities. Visit the EDYC GP14 event page for more information.
Entry fee: £220.
Further discounts for youth helms (see NOR).
Entry limited to 150 boats.
Friday 8 - Sunday 10 August: Registration, measurement, weighing
Sunday 10 August: Practice race
Monday 11 to Friday 15 August: Races 1–8
Wednesday 13 August is a designated Spare Race Day.
Friday 15 August: Banquet and Prize Giving
Stena Line is offering discounts on five routes: Cairnryan and Liverpool to Belfast, Holyhead to Dublin Port or Dun Laoghaire and Fishguard to Rosslare. Offer code for online booking at www.stenaline.co.uk available after registration..
